The family of Casper Neun is complete. German spelling of the name - Neun, but the modern spellings are Nein and Nine. Mr. Nine arrived fr om Germany on the ship Billinder Townshend at Philadelphia, from Amste rdam, October 5, 1737. The ship touched Cowes, England, enroute. His signature on the ship's register is shown below. (not posted)

Mr. Nine settled in Oley Valley, Penn.

In 1759-1785 we pick up the general tax lists which show that he was t he owner of 200 a. of land in Lynn twp. Northampton, now Lehigh count y. It is known that he lived in Berks county but non record of any re sidence in Lehigh county. On April 23, 1787, then a resident of Oley twp. he made his last will and testament, recorded July 29, 1788. His wife Barbara survived him and died in Oley in advanced years in 1800 . Their chn:

In Berks county tax list of 1767-1785 CASPER NINE (and son) Oley twp. 110a of land, 2 horses, 4 cattle - 1:93:0.

DANIEL NINE, son of Casper, lived in Oley Twp. In 1787 he obtained a land patent for 40 a. of land in Berks county. He m. Dec. 1, 1779, ES THER BERTOLET of Oley b. Nov 19, 1749, d. Oct 5, 1792. Buried at Bert olet graveyard on the Bertolet homestead - mother of 4 sons and one da u. which fact is recorded on her tombstone.
